What is Shikonin Gromwell Root Extract? 

Shikonin Gromwell Root Extract is an active substance extracted from the roots of the boraginaceae plant Gromwell (Lithospermum erythrorhizon). Its core bioactive components are a series of naphthoquinone derivatives, with Shikonin being the most critical and abundant active monomer.

In addition to shikonin, the extract also contains other active ingredients such as Acetylshikonin, β,β-Dimethylacrylshikonin, Isovalerylshikonin, etc. These components collectively contribute to the diverse biological activities of the extract.
